Aidan's Current Events
Aidan continues to be a great Ambassador for Hypophosphatasia. Our goal is to make the world aware of a need. A need to find a treatment for Hypophosphatasia. A need to Help Aidan Get Well. A need to help ALL children and adults with this disease get well and have a brighter future.
Help Aidan Get Well gets a new logo with our motto "Chipping Away At A Cure."
Do you know what May 15th is? We at Help Aidan Get Well do. It is National Chocolate Chip cookie day! That day is very important to us. Why, you ask? Our logo is a chocolate chip cookie. Not just a chocolate chip cookie, a chocolate chip cookie with a bite out it. Who wants a cookie with a bite out of it? We do, because we are chipping away at a cure. A cure for our Hypophosphatasia friends. We are inviting anyone who would like to help raise money for Help Aidan Get Well to participate. There are many ways you can help. We are looking for anyone who can sponsor anything with chocolate chips. It can be many things; bagels, cookies, yogurt, pretzels, brownies, ice cream, etc.... Use your imagination. What can you come up with? If you have a business establishment that can produce anything with chocolate chips and would like to join our fight against Hypophosphatasia, please let us know. We will list you on our current events page, hoping to bring more customers your way, and offering free advertisement on our sponsors' page after your donation is received, acknowledging your support for our HPP friends. If you are a school organization and need merits or recognition, your participation will give you that as well. If you are a scout or brownie group and need to earn a merit badge, perhaps you could do a fundraiser for Help Aidan Get Well to accomplish the goals needed to reward you with the badge. You do not need to have a business or be in an organization, to raise funds for Help Aidan Get Well. Anyone, with an idea, can sell chocolate chip items. Perhaps your place of employment will allow you to have a bake sale that day. You can even set up a donation box anywhere. Perhaps you have a home economics class in school, where you could make your chocolate chip product and then sell it in the cafeteria or student store. We would love to partner with you and help you succeed, therefore helping us to be successful in our mission. We are so excited about a chance to bring awareness to Hypophosphatasia and raise funds as well. We are getting a new research center at Washington University in 2015 and we are hoping to be a large part in the success of the research center. Money raised will go toward this venture. We thank you in advance for all of your support.
Help Aidan Get Well is very honored to have been asked once again to partner with the Nascar Foundation in a fund raising effort. We will be partnering with the Nascar Foundation at Dover International Speedway on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 and Sunday, September 28th, 2014. We are not sure of the times yet, but will post them as soon as we know. We will be located in the Monster Mile. We will be wearing our Help Aidan Get Well shirts with a Nascar apron over top of them. In a collaborated effort we will sell Nascar Foundation bracelets and pins, at the same time bringing awareness to Hypophosphatasia. We will have an opportunity to talk to a lot of fans about our nonprofit. Thank you Nascar Foundation for again giving us this opportunity to grow our Hypophosphatasia community. The Nascar Foundation seeks to raise funds and increase volunteerism to support nonprofit charities and charitable causes throughout the nation with an emphasis placed on initiatives that affect the ability of children to live, learn and play. Read more about the Nascar Foundation on our sponsor's page. If you are at the track and happen to make it to the Monster Mile, please stop by and show your support. If you know Nascar you know that they have the most passionate and supportive fans of any sport. We look forward to seeing and meeting you there.
Aidan will be returning to Shriner's Hospital in 2014.
Help Aidan Get Well introduces our new bracelets, Help Aidan Get Well Fight Hypophosphatasia in four different colors.
Friendly's flyer
Help Aidan Get Well will be hosting another Family Fun Night at Friendly's in Bridgeton, NJ on Friday, July 18, 2014 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.. We had a great time at our last fundraiser, met some new people, and saw some familiar faces. Our HPP poster stood in its honorary spot as always. We gave out flyers, talked to many people and introduced for the first time in public our Help Aidan Get Well Fight Hypophosphatasia bracelets. We will be selling our bracelets, new tee-shirts, (in red and navy, with our new cookie logo) and also magnets. Toni, the manager and her staff were wonderful. The staff was so supportive and made sure we were well taken care of and all of our needs were met. Christina Suggs was there and offered free face painting. Guys and gals had their faces painted as well as some of our older kids. We had a candy sale and our "Pick a Pop" game. Help Aidan Get Well would like to thank our volunteers, Sheila, and Jeanette, along with our junior volunteers Renee and Alyssa. We would also like to give a huge thank you to Renee's soccer girls. These girls are an elite group of girls. They support any member of their team, on the field and in their personal lives. The girls have attended more than one of our fundraisers. They come out, represent and support. Thank you to each and every patron who stopped by and helped make our Family Fun night a success. We hope to see you all there again this year. Bring your family and friends and come out for some great food and a fun time.
Help Aidan Get Well hosted a booth for the third year at the Deerfield Harvest Festival. We hosted our booth for all three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We had our Hypophosphatasia poster again and we also handed out our flyers and brochures. Aidan once again represented our Hypophosphatasia friends. Our games this year were a prize wheel, and our "Pick a Pop" game. The Harvest Festival is a fun family event. We met a lot of new people this year and had some return visitors from the last two years. Thank you to each and every one of you that came out to support us. We had a great time as always, raised some money and brought a lot of awareness to Hypophosphatasia. Thank you to our volunteers who worked endlessly in setting up and taking down our booth each day, assisting with the games and talking to our visitors. A huge thank you to Sheila, Laurie and Jeanette, along with Dale and Rick. Thank you to our Hypophosphatasia friends for again allowing us to share your stories with everyone we met.
We want to thank Laura for supporting Help Aidan Get Well through iGive. iGive is a great way for on line shopping with over 1482 stores to choose from. By shopping through iGive for all your on line needs, Help Aidan Get Well will receive a donation for all qualified purchases that you make. iGive also has a search bar that if used, Help Aidan Get Well will receive $.01 for every qualified search that you do. We search the web every day, so as they say, why not pay it forward as you do something you would normally do. Please join iGive and Help Aidan Get Well. Your donation is tax deductable and iGive offers a report that can track that for you. It cost you nothing, the stores that participate donate a percentage of your purchase. Who doesn't need a tax deduction? What better way to get one, have someone track it for you "at your request" and give to a charity to help others get well?
Thank you for your support.
Aidan has represented Hypophosphatasia four times now with Make A Wish. The first time he attended a fund raiser for Make A Wish as their guest of honor. Aidan was more than happy to help out. He spoke to several people about his illness and also told others what a great job and good cause Make A Wish is. The second time he was invited to ride in the Make A Wish Convoy in Pennsylvania. Aidan then attended the Make a Wish events at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. All four opportunities have granted Aidan a chance to bring more awareness to Hypophosphatasia.
For all of those following Aidan and his journey, you will notice that the website has been updated. We are in the process of adding some new things. Aidan's Angels is a page for all the children that have lost the fight with Hypophosphatasia. If you have lost a loved one to this disease and you would like them to be one of Aidan's angels, please e-mail Aidan and we will add your loved one to the angels' page. If you have a photo you would like to include, we will add that as well.
Aidan's Hypophosphatasia Friends has been added for the children and adults that are fighting Hypophosphatasia. If you yourself, or you have a child that has Hypophosphatasia and you would like them to become one of Aidan's friends, please e-mail Aidan and tell us whatever you want the world to know about you or your child. If you would like to send a photo, we will add that as well. We need to make the world aware, that our children and adults have a disease that needs a treatment. We need to bring awareness to the need for more research and studies into Hypophosphatasia. We need to raise money to educate the world and to support funding for the research projects. Please keep in mind, visual intensifies the impact, so if we can actually show the beautiful children, young and old that are effected by Hypophosphatasia the more support we will get. May this page give you some comfort knowing you are not alone in your fight against this disease.
Aidan is on Facebook. The name of his Facebook page is Help Aidan Get Well (Fight Hypophosphatasia). Aidan is also on Facebook Causes. We have a Facebook Group called Help Aidan Get Well (Fight Hypophosphatasia). It is an open group, anyone can join. Come talk to some of our HPP friends. Read their questions and concerns and hear the latest news and stories about them. Aidan is on Twitter. Aidan's Twitter name is Helpaidan. You will also find Aidan on Caring Bridge.
We have added a separate sponsor's page for all of the sponsor's that assist us in our fight against Hypophosphatasia. We really hope to see this list grow.
We are getting requests through Aidan's website asking where you can send a donation to Help Aidan Get Well, Inc., a 501c.3 non-profit organization. By the way, keep those e-mails coming. You can contact us at Aidan's e-mail address. The family thanks each and every one of you, for your donations of time and energy and your contributions. The medical information is keeping us busy. We are researching each and every lead that you send us. We have added a donate button to the bottom of the page, for those who wish to donate. It is with heartfelt thanks that we thank each and every member who has joined Help Aidan Get Well and is working diligently and endlessly to help Aidan accomplish his goal of finding a treatment.
To all of our friends and family that have stood by us and supported us, we thank you. To all of the sponsor's that have made our endeavors successful, we also thank you. A special thank you to the people that have opened their hearts to us, some of which do not even know us.
God has blessed us with an angel that has stumbled, but we refuse to let him fall.
